From July 7–11, Yerevan State University hosted the international summer school LAWCONRESC 2025, organized by the Section of Global Governance at the University of Graz and Yerevan State University. Building on the success of previous regional initiatives, the program gathered students from Austria, Armenia, Lebanon, Germany, and Turkey, alongside an international team of distinguished lecturers who ensured the highest academic standards of the event.
The summer school addressed the multifaceted dimensions of Europeanization and peace-building, with particular attention to the Armenian case. Participants explored the impact of European integration on political institutions, security strategies, diversity management, conflict resolution, geopolitical choices, as well as social and cultural practices.
The academic program featured lectures on international law, ethnic conflict resolution, Track 2 and 3 initiatives, diversity management, and regional policy. To complement the theoretical framework, participants also visited the EU Monitoring Mission in Armenia, the Office of the Council of Europe, and the Genocide Memorial of Armenia, thereby connecting scholarly debate with practical insights.
Encouraged by the success of LAWCONRESC 2025, the organizers look forward to continuing this valuable tradition with the next summer school planned for 2026.
