The roundtable discussion, “Legal Approximation and Minority Rights in Georgia: Perspectives on the FCNM and Beyond”, will focus on the multifaceted forms of the alignment of Georgia's legal frameworks with European and EU standards, particularly emphasizing the protection of minority rights.
Professors Irine Kurdadze and David Pataraia (Tbilisi State University), both renowned experts in this field, will explore these questions, addressing how legal approximation works in practice and how it interacts with the implementation of minority rights. Both, however, will also discuss the challenges that arise in this context. Participants will be given the unique opportunity to engage in a dialogue on integrating EU standards into national legislation with the particular case of Georgia.
