The Faculty has a long tradition of dealing with IT, which dates back to the 1970s as "Legal Informatics". The name of the Section was modernized to "Law and IT" when the Department of the Foundations of Law was founded.
In terms of content, our topics range from legal media competence (efficient research in digital legal data; legal data science) to legal tech (IT applications for legal/legal work) and IT law, which as a cross-sectional subject touches on all areas of law.
